PMSGMBY Set to Surpass 10 Lakh Rooftop Solar Installations by March 2025

The Pradhan Mantri Solar Gramin Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY), the world’s largest domestic rooftop solar initiative, is reshaping India's solar energy landscape. Since its launch in February 2024, the scheme has achieved 6.3 lakh installations in just nine months, averaging 70,000 installations per month—a tenfold increase from the previous monthly average of 7,000.
Installations are projected to cross 10 lakh by March 2025, doubling to 20 lakh by October 2025, and reaching the ambitious target of one crore by March 2027. States like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh have shown remarkable progress, underscoring robust infrastructure and collaborative efforts.
The early success of PMSGMBY highlights its transformative potential, setting the stage for rapid expansion and a sustainable future in rooftop solar energy.
