PMRDA to Propose Tunnel Between Yerawada and Katraj

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appointed the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to draft a proposal for an underground tunnel connecting Yerawada and Katraj. The tunnel, using twin-tunnel technology, aims to ease congestion and improve connectivity between Pune’s northern and southern regions. The 15 km stretch, currently plagued by heavy traffic, is expected to see reduced travel time and smoother commutes.
