PMC sets to start ₹120-cr bridge project

Pune Municipal Corporation
The civil work on the 2.5km-long flyover between Rajaram bridge and Fun Time Multiplex at Wadgaon Budruk on Sinhagad Road is all set to start. The ₹120 crore flyover, once completed, will streamline traffic flow on Sinhagad Road and also provide direct access to vehicles moving out of the city and those entering the city via Sinhagad Road junction and heading towards Swargate. The standing committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is allotting funds for the project in a phased manner. As per the plan, the flyover will have two wings with two lanes each. A wing for traffic towards Wadgaon Budruk will begin after Rajaram bridge chowk, while the other wing meant for vehicles heading towards Swargate from Wadgaon Budruk will start near Indian Hume Pipes. The civic administration, in its proposal tabled before the standing committee, has claimed that the flyover proposal was drafted following the traffic survey and feasibility study.
