PM Modi Inaugurates ₹5,200 Cr Infra Development Projects in Siwan, Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹5,200 crore in Siwan, Bihar, marking a significant push for the state’s infrastructure and socio-economic growth.

He launched the new Vaishali–Deoria railway line worth over ₹400 crore and flagged off a train service on this route. Further enhancing North Bihar’s connectivity, the PM also flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra and Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah.

In a boost to Make in India, the Prime Minister flagged off the first export locomotive built at Marhowra Plant for Guinea. These high-tech locomotives feature high-horsepower engines, advanced AC propulsion, regenerative braking, and ergonomic cabs.

Strengthening the Namami Gange mission, PM Modi inaugurated six sewage treatment plants (STPs) worth ₹1,800 crore. He also laid the foundation for water supply, sanitation, and STPs worth ₹3,000 crore across various Bihar towns to ensure safe drinking water access.

For improved energy resilience, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to be installed at 15 substations across the state, including Siwan and Muzaffarpur.

Additionally, the PM released the first PMAY-U instalment to over 53,600 beneficiaries in Bihar and handed over keys to new homeowners, marking the Grih Pravesh of more than 6,600 houses.
