PM Modi Inaugurates ₹32,800 Cr Projects to Boost Urban Mobility in Thane

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects worth over ₹32,800 crore in Thane, Maharashtra today, with a strong focus on enhancing urban mobility.

The key projects include the inauguration of the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line-3, valued at ₹14,120 crore. This 10-station stretch, with 9 underground stations, is expected to improve connectivity between Mumbai city and its suburbs. Once fully operational, Line-3 is projected to serve around 12 lakh passengers daily.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, which will span 29 km with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. The project, costing ₹12,200 crore, aims to meet the growing transportation demands of Thane, a major industrial and commercial hub in Maharashtra.

Additionally, the Prime Minister initiated the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, a ₹3,310 crore project designed to ensure seamless connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane.

The foundation stone for Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, worth ₹2,550 crore, was also laid. This project includes the construction of arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure.

Lastly, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a new Thane Municipal Corporation building, which will be constructed at a cost of ₹700 crore. This high-rise administrative building will centralize municipal services, providing improved access for Thane's residents.
