PM Modi Inaugurates ₹2 Lakh Cr Development Projects in Andhra Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works totaling over ₹2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, signaling a transformative phase for the state's infrastructure and economy.
The Prime Minister stated, “The infrastructure revolution in Andhra Pradesh, with better connectivity and facilities, will transform the state's landscape.” He emphasized that these projects would enhance ease of living and doing business, paving the way for Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious goal of becoming a $2.5 trillion economy.
NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub: Advancing Sustainable Energy
In a major push toward green energy, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam. With an investment of approximately ₹1.85 lakh crore, the project is India’s first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. It will include 20 GW of renewable energy capacity, producing 1,500 TPD of Green Hydrogen and 7,500 TPD of Green Hydrogen derivatives such as Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. This facility aims to bolster India’s non-fossil energy capacity target of 500 GW by 2030 while targeting the export market.
Boosting Connectivity and Economic Growth
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for railway and road projects worth over ₹19,500 crore, including the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam. These projects aim to alleviate congestion, improve connectivity, and drive social and economic growth in the region.
Healthcare and Industrial Growth
To further enhance healthcare accessibility, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district. The park, strategically located near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petrochemical Region, is expected to create thousands of jobs and accelerate regional economic growth.
In Tirupati district, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. Envisioned as a greenfield smart city, this ₹10,500 crore project is expected to generate approximately 1 lakh jobs, attracting significant manufacturing investments and driving regional development.
These projects collectively mark a transformative leap for Andhra Pradesh, enhancing infrastructure, fostering industrial growth, and steering India toward a sustainable future.
