PM Modi Inaugurates Phase 1 of Navi Mumbai International Airport

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), aimed at reducing congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Developed under a public-private partnership between Adani Airport Holdings and CIDCO, the airport combines advanced technology with striking art installations.

NMIA is India’s first fully digital airport, offering pre-booked vehicle parking, online baggage drop, and automated immigration services, supported by an AI-enabled terminal. Spread across 1,160 hectares, the airport will initially handle 20 million passengers annually via one runway and terminal, with future expansion planned to accommodate 155 million passengers through four terminals and two runways.
