PM Modi Inaugurates Final Stretch of Ahmedabad Metro Phase II, Linking Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the remaining stretch of Phase II of the Ahmedabad Metro, completing the metro rail link between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Modi flagged off a metro service from the newly opened Mahatma Mandir station, marking the start of operations on the final section.

The completed stretch connects Sector 10A in Gandhinagar to the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre and passes through key zones including the Sachivalaya complex, Akshardham Temple, old Sachivalaya, and Sectors 16 and 24.

Ahmedabad Metro Phase II is an extension of Phase I and consists of two corridors spanning 28.2 km with 22 stations, designed to ensure seamless connectivity between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar while reducing road congestion and improving urban mobility.
