PM Inaugurates Key Power and Infrastructure Projects in UP

To enhance power generation in UP, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar. He also inaugurated 132 kV substations worth over ₹320 crore at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida.

In Kanpur, the Prime Minister inaugurated the ₹8,300 crore 660 MW Panki Thermal Power Extension Project, boosting Uttar Pradesh's energy capacity. Additionally, he inaugurated three 660 MW units of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, worth over ₹9,330 crore, strengthening the region's power supply.

Two rail overbridges—one at Panki Power House Railway Crossing and another at Panki Dham Crossing—were also inaugurated. These will facilitate the logistics for the Panki Thermal Power Project and ease local traffic.

The Prime Minister further inaugurated a 40 MLD Tertiary Treatment Plant at Bingawan in Kanpur, built at a cost of over ₹290 crore. The plant will promote water conservation by enabling the reuse of treated sewage water, supporting sustainable resource management in the region.
