Parliament Passes Bill to Modernise Railway Operations

Parliament has passed a bill to streamline and modernize railway operations in India, focusing on infrastructure development, safety, and technology. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that the bill simplifies existing laws without affecting the powers of state governments.
The bill also promotes decentralization by empowering general managers of railway zones to approve projects worth up to ₹1,000 crore, enabling faster decision-making and execution.
