Odisha clears new airport at Dhamra Port

Dhamra Port
The Odisha government has recently gave in-principle approval for setting up an airport on an area stretching across 444 acres at Dhamra in Bhadrak district of the state. The approval was accorded at a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi wherein the Adani Group had proposed to set up the airport at Dhamra Port for better air connectivity for the state. The state also plans to develop port-based industries by setting up a sprawling industrial township on an area of 500 acres at Dhamra for which the Chief Secretary directed Bhadrak District administration to identify the land required for the purpose. The authorities have directed Dhamra port authorities to build health care facilities for the benefit of people living on the port‘s periphery.
