To build top-class road infrastructure in the twin districts of Malkangiri and Koraput, the Odisha government has cleared a total of 29 road projects entailing an investment of Rs.350.02 crore. The projects were approved by the newly set-up Odisha State Rural Connectivity Project Agency (OSRCPA), Chief Secretary AP Padhi said that the body has directed the concerned department to expedite the processes of tender, award of work and complete the projects before the scheduled time ensuring quality in construction. It was decided that the new technologies like cement treated sub-base, WNM, cold SDBC and nanotechnology would be adopted for cost saving and speedy construction for which the Centre and State governments would share the cost of funds in 60:40 ratio. A 3-tire quality monitoring system would be put in place and that of the sanctioned roads, 13 would be constructed in Boipariguda, Koraput, Lamatapur, Nrayanpatana and Semiliguda blocks of Koraput district and 16 roads in Kalimela, Khairaput, Korukunda, Kudumuluguma, Malkangiri, Mathili and Podia blocks of Malkangiri district.
