NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has successfully commissioned 37.95 MW of its 300 MW solar project in Khavda, Gujarat, increasing its operational capacity at the site to 262 MW. The project forms part of the larger 1,200 MW interstate wind-solar hybrid system under SECI’s Tranche-V initiative.

The first phase of the Khavda project, with 142.2 MW, was commissioned in June 2025, followed by subsequent phases of 32.8 MW, 49.125 MW, and now 37.95 MW. With this milestone, NGEL’s total operational renewable capacity has reached 7,553.68 MW, further strengthening its role in India’s clean energy transition.

NGEL announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 12.5 MW solar unit in Bhuj, Gujarat, part of a 37.5 MW solar project developed by Ayana Renewable Power. These expansions reinforce NGEL’s commitment to driving renewable capacity growth and supporting India’s 2030 clean energy goals.
