Noida revives ₹275-cr embankment road project

embankment road project
The Noida authority has decided to revive the Yamuna embankment road project proposed to decongest the Noida expressway where the authority had deferred the work on a 15-km stretch due to fund crunch in 2016. Vijay Rawal, the project engineer, informed that the project has now become more important because the UP government has directed the Noida and Yamuna expressway authorities to find out new routes for additional connectivity from Delhi to Jewar airport. This 15-km stretch is a part of the 26-km embankment road that starts from Noida's Sector 94 near Kalindi Kunj barrage (on Delhi-Noida border) up to Sector 150 near Noida-Greater Noida border as it will provide additional connectivity to road users travelling to Noida's sectors 15, 16, 17, 128, 135, 150, 151, 168, among others, along with some areas of Greater Noida. As per the DPR, the 15-metre wide road involves an estimated construction cost of ₹275 crore. The Jewar International Airport is being built on a fast-track basis and to provide hassle-free transport facilities, the authority has planned to start work on the project soon.
