NMDC Steel Reaches 1 Million Ton Production Milestone in Hot Rolled Coil
NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) has proudly announced a significant milestone, producing 1 Million Ton (MnT) of Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) on August 20th, 2024. This achievement comes just days before the first anniversary of the commencement of HR Coil production, underscoring NSL's efficiency and rapid growth in the steel manufacturing industry.
This accomplishment follows other notable successes in 2024, including the production of 1.5 MnT of Hot Metal from its Blast Furnace on July 21st and 1 MnT of Liquid Steel from the Steel Making Shop (SMS) on August 11th. All these milestones were reached within a year of starting production, setting new industry benchmarks.
NSL’s ultra-modern 3 MTPA steel plant, established with an investment of ₹22,900 crore, features one of India's widest Hot Strip Mills, capable of rolling HR coils from 900 mm to 1650 mm in width and 1 mm to 16 mm in thickness. These achievements highlight NSL's commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and its ambition to lead the steel manufacturing sector with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and technological advancement.
