NIAL eyes foreign investment for Jewar airport

The Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) has decided to seek help from foreign embassies to rope in investors for the mega project where the nodal agency is also building an aviation hub in the vicinity of the airport. Recently, it had floated a global tender to hire a developer for construction of the proposed airport and placed a bid document on its website www.nialjewar.com. The authority has started receiving an encouraging response from global developers and reputed developers from India and abroad have purchased the bid documents, said OSD of Yeida, Shailendra Bhatia. The authority is also looking after the airport project‘s development and investment related activities. The estimated budget for the Jewar airport project, which is expected to be operational by 2022-23, is Rs 20,000 crore for which the agency is approaching embassies of Japan, Singapore, America and China, among others.
