NHIDCL makes headway for twin-tube tunnels in J&K

NHIDCL
The National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) has achieved a breakthrough for one of the two tubes of Z-Morh Tunnel commanding a length of 6.5 km at Sonamarg in the Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir where the ceremonial blast paved the way forward to build all-weather road connectivity to the Sonamarg valley. With this, APCO Infratech, the concessionaire for the project, achieved yet another milestone. Executive Director (Projects), Regional Office, NHIDCL, Srinagar, Gurjeet Kambo, assured that the breakthrough of the main tunnel will also be achieved within the stipulated timelines. He further informed that once the project is completed, it will not just contribute to the economic development of the region but will also provide seamless connectivity to the tourists travelling to Sonamarg during winters, besides boosting the movement of armed forces for their strategic movement along the border belt.
