NHAI awards Rs. 2,845-cr road projects

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has recently awarded the contract for four-laning of the Lucknow-Sultanpur section of National Highway-56 in Uttar Pradesh involving an investment of Rs 2,845cr, said official sources, claiming that the nodal agency issued the Letter of Award (LOA) for development of the Lucknow-Sultanpur section of NH-56 in Uttar Pradesh, under the National Highways Development Project Phase-IV program. The project shall be executed on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) and completed in 30 months from the date of commencement of the construction work of the project. Development of this section would reduce the travel time from Lucknow to the holy city of Varanasi and promote tourism in the region, besides boosting economic activities, ensuring job generation to the local youth.
