NHAI unveils ₹350-cr national highway project

The National Highways Authority of India
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to start the construction work on a ₹350-crore project to unclog the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch by building flyovers on the route including Mahapura, Bhankrota, Mahindra SEZ, Mehla, Kamla Nehru Nagar and Bandar Sindri, for which bids are being floated shortly. The Central ministry has given approval for the project which will solve the traffic problem at Bhankrota and Mahapura junction. The faulty planning of NHAI on NH-8 (Jaipur-Ajmer) is allegedly causing hardship to the traffic department. As per the requirement, the structure will be built at both ends to provide swift passage and the JDA will draw up a plan to reduce traffic congestion in the area. However, the plight of motorists passing through the choked stretches of NH-8 did not come to an end as the civic body expressed helplessness in constructing a flyover over these stretches because the area comes under NHAI jurisdiction as the Jaipur-Ajmer highway is the main national highway which connects Udaipur, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
