NHAI taking up tunneling project in Jaipur

Ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic in the capital city, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has recently decided to take up the construction of a tunnel between Sanganeri Gate and Jorawar Singh Gate, beneath the Walled City area of the state capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. For the project in question, NHAI will only appoint the consultant to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) and prior to this, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) prepared pre-feasibility report to decongest traffic in Walled City, Jaipur Smart City Limited (JSCL) has incorporated the project under smart city mission. The JSCL also short-listed the consultant firm to prepare the DPR but in the changed circumstance NHAI will now invite the tenders to prepare the report, JSCL, chief executive officer, Ravi Jain, said that NHAI has given clear cut directions that it will itself invite the tenders to prepare DPR for the tunneling of the mega project.
