In a bid to ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic on the Mettupalayam Road (NH-67) from Perianaickenpalayam to Mathampalayam, the NHAI has recently taken up the four-lane expansion work. The work on the 6.1km stretch for which an agreement was executed last year but was delayed because of various reasons, and the issues now has been resolved. The scope of work in the stretch would include four bridges and five culverts, of which it would reconstruct two bridges and will widen the existing two bridges, said official sources, elaborating that the stretch also comprises a 2-km long flyover from the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Industrial Training Institute in Perianaickenpalayam to Samichettipalayam, which would be constructed through a separate tender and that the entire work on the stretch would be completed in six months.
