The Panvel to Indapur highway stretch in Maharashtra, which has been touted as among the biggest of the three targeted projects, but remained in limbo for quite some time for various reasons including land acquisition, has now been cleared by NHAI at an investment worth Rs. 616cr, said official sources, elaborating that the mega project will get Rs. 540-cr from NHAI and Rs. 76-cr from banks and promoters. The project was being implemented by a joint venture between Supreme Infrastructure India, Mahavir Road and Infrastructure, and China State Construction Engineering Hong Kong. The 84-km Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) toll project was started in December 2011 and was scheduled to be completed this December.
