NHAI Prepares Phase 2 Plan for 4-Lane Prayagraj Inner Ring Road, Two Major River Bridges Planned

Ring-Road-Project
In a major move to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity in Prayagraj, the National Highways Authority of India is preparing the work plan for the second phase of the 4-lane Prayagraj Inner Ring Road project. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the preliminary detailed project report for this phase, clearing the path for technical and administrative procedures.

The second phase will extend from Madhopur village near NH19 in Soraon tehsil to Amiliya village in Karchana tehsil, covering 41.662 km and passing through 41 villages. NHAI officials and technical experts are expected to initiate the land acquisition process within the next six months.

A major feature of the project is the construction of two large river bridges. A 3.5 km long six-lane bridge will be built over the Ganga, while a 1.2 km bridge is planned over the Yamuna. Detailed surveys will be carried out to finalise the alignment and identify the villages through which these bridges will pass, ensuring smooth execution of this critical infrastructure project.
