NHAI Plans to Connect Bengaluru-Chennai E-way to Bengaluru-Kolar Highway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is considering an 18-km road linking the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway (within Karnataka) to the Bengaluru-Kolar Highway. The project aims to improve connectivity for motorists traveling to Andhra Pradesh border areas, including Chittoor and Tirupati.
Recently, NHAI opened a 68-km stretch of the expressway within Karnataka without toll charges, as construction in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu faces delays. Currently, commuters use the route from Hoskote to KGF (Bethamangala).
The proposed road, developed by upgrading major district and village roads, could also facilitate toll collection once fully operational.
