NHAI Plans Groundbreaking Self-Repairing Road Technology
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to introduce a revolutionary road maintenance technology in the country. This innovative approach involves utilizing a new type of asphalt infused with steel fiber and bitumen. As per reports from DD News, this self-repairing material will automatically fill gaps and potholes on the road by allowing the bitumen to spread and interlock with steel threads. This advancement aims to address the persistent issue of potholes, a significant contributor to road accidents and fatalities nationwide. However, the duration required for the asphalt to cover and repair a pothole or gap remains undisclosed.
