NHAI kick starts ring road project in UP

The construction work on the second and third phase of outer ring road has resumed on the 12-km stretch between Faizabad road and Sultanpur road. Nave HAI and the UP Public Works Department (UPPWD) have secured permission from the district administration, and 70% of the work of the second and third phase has been completed while only two rail over bridges (RoBs) are to be constructed near Barabanki. Adhering strictly to the norms, only 10-15 workers have been deployed for installing girders for the RoBs using cranes. Project managers have been directed to take all necessary precautions and ensure social distancing. Similarly, NHAI officials have received permission for soil mining for the Sultanpur and Mohanlalganj (phase three) for which the work is expected to be completed by June next year. Work on the outer ring road had started in 2015 and is expected to be completec in 2021.
