NHAI hastens Delhi-Jaipur road corridor

NHAI
The Rajasthan government has fast tracked the process to acquire land for the northern corridor of the Ring Road connecting Jaipur-Agra NH with the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway. After identifying land in 26 villages of three tehsils - Amer, Jaipur and Jamwa -Ramgarh, NHAI has issued a notification informing the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) of the khasra numbers earmarked for the 44-km long corridor, for which NHAI will construct a 70-metre wide transport corridor. An official source at JDA said that in the master plan 2025, JDA has kept the corridor 360-metre wide, same as the southern corridor. JDA will carry out the development work on the extra land as the current plan has a six-lane access-controlled expressway and a three-lane service road on both sides. In the initial draft of the alignment prepared by NHAI, JDA had suggested construction of elevated structures at entry and exit points on the Agra and Delhi Roads and a proper drainage system.
