NHAI clears ₹600-cr double-decker flyover in Pune

double-decker flyover Pune
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has finally cleared the double-decker flyover of MahaMetro on Kamptee Road entailing an investment of ₹600 crore. Metro work on the Sitabuldi to Kamptee Road stretch was stuck due to the uncertainty surrounding the flyover. As per prior plans, the flyover was to begin opposite SFS Cathedral, but local residents approached Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari and NMC Corporators pointing out that it would become an accident prone spot. NMC in March then approved the revised ramp design of the Kamptee Road clearing a double-decker flyover to be constructed between Patni Automobiles and LIC Square. Six to seven buildings will have to be razed near the LIC for which the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will have to pay compensation to the owners.
