NHAI awards Rs. 2,126cr road projects

Ensuring smooth movement of vehicular traffic in twin states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the NHAI in a recent move has awarded the projects at an investment worth Rs. 2,126cr, said official sources adding that both the projects have been secured by the renowned construction firm MBL Infrastructures on the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer Hybrid Annuity basis.

Sources further clarified that the first project, which entailed an investment worth Rs 942-cr involved the construction of four-laning of Chutmalpur-Ganeshpur section of NH- 72-A from 0 km to 16 km and Roorkee-Chutmalpur-Gagalheri section of NH-73 from 0 km to 33 km in the state of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh under NHDP's phase-IV. Second project is worth Rs 1,184-cr for four landing of Gagalheri-Saharanpur Yamunanagar section of NH-73 from 33 km to 71.64 km state of Uttar Pradesh under NHDP-IV and that the construction period is 730 days for both the projects, the sources claimed.
