NHAI Approves ₹604 Cr Pune Service Road Project

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved a 32.4-km service road from Khed-Shivapur to Ravet in Pune to ease congestion on the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway. The ₹604 crore, two-lane project is set to begin construction in March 2025.
Designed to accommodate the daily traffic load of 2.1 lakh vehicles, the road is expected to cut travel time by up to 20 minutes and ease congestion at key points like Narhe, Navale Bridge, Warje, Chandani Chowk, and Ravet. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has completed 90% of the land acquisition, while the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is handling the remaining 10%.
