NH-4 widening gains momentum
The widening of National Highway-4 between Chitradurga and Hubballi will be converted into six lanes from the existing four in the next 30 months, said official sources that NHAI and other departments would implement the project in question in three phases. They further added that three companies have already bagged the tenders and the project will be launched in November. Since the project comes under the jurisdiction of Chitradurga, Davangere, Haveri, and Hubballi area, a final decision will be taken after holding discussions with the local MP. NHAI Planning Director Somshekhar said that the loopholes that were found while implementing the three-lane works would be rectified while implementing the six-lane works and a notification for acquisition of land has already been issued.
