Nalco plans ₹5,500-cr plant on 188 acres in Odisha
The National Aluminum Company (Nalco) is set to launch its Rs.5,500-crore downstream project at Kamkhyanagar in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. The state government has offered 188 acres of land for the project, which is billed to be one of the largest investments in the metal downstream space in the eastern region of the country. The Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (IPICOL) has engaged Engineers India for providing engineering and related technical services, land assessment etc. Clearances from different approval committees were secured last year said Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Odisha, Sanjeev Chopra. The complex will house facilities for producing aluminum foils, rolled products and extrusions, with a combined capacity of 170,000 tons per annum. Aluminum alloy wheels used in the automobile industry will also be manufactured.
