Nabard pushes ₹266 cr in Punjab's road infra

Nabard has recently cleared ₹266 crore to Punjab to upgrade rural roads and bridges across the state, State's Public Works Department (PWD) minister, Vijay Inder Singla said that the state gets first approval for Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) from Nabard in two years. The loan assistance is meant for rebuilding 71 roads and six bridge projects in the state including the widening and strengthening of 500 km stretch of existing roads to improve rural connectivity and strengthening or constructing bridges. For the targeted projects, which will be implemented by the PWD, construction work will commence in two months and will be completed in a time bound manner in about 18 months, he added.
