MP pushes four lane flyover projects
In order to streamline the vehicular traffic crisscrossing within the civic limits, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation recently cleared a four-lane flyover in Bhopal's largest commercial area at Hamidia road. Stretching 1.5 km, the flyover will connect Bhopal Talkies to Bhopal railway station with four connecting arms - Berasia road, Cholla, Railway station platform number-6 ending at railway station road connecting platform number-1. The new area development plan for Hamidia road and Old Bhopal has been envisaged and it would lead to better traffic management and public convenience, said BMC mayor Alok Sharma, adding that the development in the area which is one of the landmarks of the state capital, is currently in full swing. The stretch is also the approach road for Railway station and Bus stop. A technical consultancy that has been short-listed will bring out a feasibility and detailed project report and a final decision on the same is expected soon, he added.
