MoRTH takes up ₹3,000-cr road projects in NE

The Centre has decided to launch 200 projects worth ₹3,000 crore in the Northeast in the first 100 days, said DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh. Apart from road and highway projects, other key projects under the action plan include setting up of a bamboo industrial park at Manderdisa in Dima Hasao district of Assam in an area of 75 hectares at a cost of ₹50 crore. In addition, 36 ongoing projects under various schemes like the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) Scheme, special packages and other schemes of the North Eastern Council (NEC) have been completed with an approved cost of ₹529.18 crore. Construction work of two projects of ₹89.63 crore have started and three projects of ₹26.83 crore have been operationalized in the recent past under the North East State Road Improvement Project (NESRIP), informed Singh.
