MoRTH kick starts ₹777-cr road projects in Maharashtra

The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has laid the foundation stones for road projects worth ₹777 crore. The all-weather road network in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra will improve socio-economic development in the region in the next two years. The ministry has approved 44 road projects of 541 km length involving an outlay of ₹1,740 crore for the district. The total length of the national highway in Gadchiroli district has increased from 54 km to 647 km. The minister inaugurated a major bridge across Pranahita river on Nizamabad Jagdalpur Road (NH-63) at a cost of ₹168 crore, besides commissioning a ₹248 crore high-level bridge near Lankachen on Bejurpalli-Aheri Road including the improvement of Bejurpalli-Aheri Road (SH-275) between Watra and Moyabinpeta and Garanji-Pustola road.
