MoRTH Allocates ₹421 Cr for NH-17 4-Lane Gauripur Bypass in Assam

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has allocated ₹421.15 Crore to Assam for constructing a 4-lane Gauripur Bypass along NH-17 (New)/NH-31(Old), extending from Dumardoha Pt-II to the Baladmara road in Dhubri district. Covering a length of 9.61 kilometers, the project aims to ease congestion in Gauripur town and address safety concerns posed by sharp bends on the current highway. The implementation of this bypass, equipped with comprehensive road safety measures, is expected to significantly reduce accidents in the region.
