Varkala Sivagiri Railway Station to Undergo Major Redevelopment

The Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd (KRDCL) has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the redevelopment of Varkala Sivagiri railway station under the Thiruvananthapuram division. The estimated project cost is Rs 123.36 crore, and it will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis. The project aims to upgrade the railway station and provide a new iconic identity to the city of Varkala. The station will be designed to be safe, accessible, easy to use, and inclusive for passengers, staff, visitors, and the public. The redevelopment will also focus on creating a disabled-friendly environment with various accessibility features. The project will incorporate green building features and energy-saving measures.
