Panel proposes three new metro lines in Bengaluru

three new corridors for the Bengaluru metro network
A panel consisting of members from the state government and FICCI has proposed three new corridors for the Bengaluru metro network. These new lines would connect Old Airport Road and MG Road to Hope Farm and Old Madras Road, KR Puram to Hoskote and Inner Ring Road loop (Yeshwantpur, Cantonment, and Indiranagar, Koramangala, Ashoka Pillar and Mahalakshmi Layout). The aim of these metro lines is to enhance metro connectivity and accessibility for all metro travelers. The proposal also includes plans to increase connectivity with the railway networks in the nearby cities and other locations with Bangalore. In total, this railway line extension would span 452 Kms, serving cities in and around Bangalore. Bangalore Metro, also known as Namma Metro, has two lines with 51 stations, and is an urban mass rapid transit system.
