New Noida metro route to link Sector 142 with Botanical Garden station
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced plans to construct a new route connecting Sector 142 with the Botanical Garden Metro Station. The project, which is expected to cost ₹2,826 crore, will involve the construction of six new metro stations between the two points. The route will pass over the Mahamaya Flyover near Sector 44 and will intersect with the existing Magenta Line at one point, where a new platform will be built. It is estimated that the line will carry around 1.5 lakh passengers daily, with the potential to reach up to one million passengers in the future. The new route will provide a more convenient option for those traveling from Delhi and Haryana to Greater Noida, as they will no longer have to disembark at Sector 51 and take a bus or auto to reach Sector 142. A detailed project report for the route was prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in 2016, and an amended version has been submitted to the UP government for approval.
