MPMRCL Receives 6 Bids for Bhopal & Indore Metro Design Consultancy

The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has attracted 6 bids for the tender concerning the Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) for Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Systems for the Bhopal and Indore Metro rail projects. The contract encompasses producing and proposing alternate designs for electrical and mechanical works within Package BH-IN-21, covering 9 underground and 24 elevated stations, to be completed within 4.4 years.

The package includes work on the Orange Line's BH-03 (6 elevated stations) and BH-04 (2 underground stations), as well as the Blue Line's BH-05 (13 elevated stations). Additionally, the scope extends to Indore Metro's IN-04 (5 elevated stations) and IN-O5 (7 underground stations) on the Yellow Line.

Bhopal Metro's Phase 1 project, with approved DPR routes spanning 27.90 km, was sanctioned by the state government in December 2016 and by the Central Government's cabinet in October 2018. The project comprises two lines.

The Indore Metro, a Mass Rapid Transit System managed by MPMRCL, is undergoing construction for Phase 01 at an estimated cost of ₹7500 Crores. The 31.5 km line in Indore with 29 stations is expected to facilitate trains running at 80 km/hr.
