MMRDA unveils 20.75-km extension of Metro-12

MMRDA has initiated groundwork to connect Thane-Bhiwandi and Kalyan Metro-12 in Thane with Taloja and Navi Mumbai involving an investment of ₹4,132 crore. The state government has directed MMRDA to expedite work on the 20.75-km long extension with its first station in Kalyan (West) near Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) and the last one in Taloja. Total 18 stations have been planned on the route.

A consultant has already been appointed for the project to fast track the entire exercise. MMR will develop rapidly after the Kalyan-Taloja metro services start as Kalyan will directly be connected to Navi Mumbai via Metro.
