MMRDA Floats Tenders Worth ₹2064 Cr for Metro 6 Procurement

MMRDA
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated tenders for the procurement of various components, including rakes, CBTC systems, Telecom Systems, PSDs, and Depot Machinery, for Metro 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli). The estimated value of these tenders is ₹2064 crore. This comes after the cancellation of earlier bids for rake procurement due to discrepancies in bid documents. The project will utilize a total of 18 six-car rakes for train operations. Platform screen doors (PSDs) will be installed at all platforms to act as a barrier between the track and the platform edge. Additionally, tenders were issued for Cab Signalling or communication-based train control system works using digital technology. The 16 km line will traverse along the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, connecting Vikhroli to Lokhandwala, crossing over the railway tracks on Central Railway and Western Railway.
