Maharashtra govt to fast-track construction of Metro 4 depot in Thane

Maharashtra government
Maharashtra government has announced plans to fast track the construction of the Metro 4 Wadala-Kasarvadavli depot in Thane. The proposal for land acquisition at Mogarpada near Ghodbunder Road has been sent to the state revenue department. The Metro 4 project, which will connect Thane with Mumbai, did not previously have a depot. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is developing the metro line and has issued a bid for the car shed. Work on the car shed will begin once the land is handed over to the authority. The Metro 4 project is 43% complete and is expected to become operational by 2024.
