Hindalco signs Technology Partnership with Metra for aluminium rail coaches
Hindalco Industries has signed a technology partnership agreement with Italy-based Metra to manufacture high-speed aluminium rail coaches. The partnership aims to enable the production of large-size aluminium extrusion and fabrication technology for building high-speed aluminium rail coaches in India. The company plans to introduce three more designs of freight wagons in the ensuing months for cement, foodgrain and other such commodities. Additionally, for the Vande Bharat trains, Hindalco plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore and the alliance will provide the advanced technology for making passenger coaches.
