DMRC submits DPR for ₹5,800-cr Lucknow Metro Corridor-II

DMRC
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has submitted a revised DPR for the second corridor of Lucknow metro and now UPMRC is in the process of sending the same to the state government to secure state and central clearances for ₹5,800 crore project. The 11.8 km long stretch with 12 stations including seven underground is expected to bring huge relief to residents and ease out vehicular traffic movement.

In the revised DPR, the DMRC has hiked the total cost of the project by ₹1,000 crore due to price hike of raw material such as steel, iron, cement and transportation. The cost will be funded 50 percent by central and state governments on a 60:40 ratio, while remaining 50 percent would be borrowed from European Investment Bank, which has evinced interest to fund metro projects.
