Delhi to get 71.15-km long ring metro line

DMRC
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to complete the construction of the country's first Ring Metro line in the coming months. The 71.15 km-long line will connect East, North, South, and West Delhi, making it the longest single metro corridor in the country. The line will eventually become a complete ring when the 12.55 km Majlis Park to Maujpur segment of the Metro Phase-IV is completed.

However, the construction of the Majlis Park to Maujpur segment has faced delays and is now expected to be commissioned in 2024, almost 15 months later than initially planned. The Ring Corridor, which currently has 36 metro stations, will have 46 stations after the completion of the 12.56 km Majlis Park to Maujpur segment.

The Ring Corridor will provide seamless connectivity between Delhi and nearby NCR cities such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Bahadurgarh. It will also feature 11 interchange metro stations, making it convenient for travelers to access the Delhi airport and railway stations.

The cost of the metro lines has increased by 15% due to the delays, from an initial budget of ₹10,479.6 crores to ₹12,048.5 crores.
