Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H. D. Kumaraswamy performed the Bhoomi Pooja and laid the foundation stone for a Rs 14 crore multi-purpose indoor sports complex in Mandya, Karnataka, under the Government of India’s Khelo India initiative.

The new indoor sports complex will be developed within the campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore at VC Farm in Mandya. The facility is aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure in the district and promoting grassroots sports development under the Khelo India programme.

Once completed, the sports complex is expected to provide modern indoor training facilities for athletes and support the development of emerging sporting talent from Mandya and surrounding regions. The project forms part of the government’s efforts to expand sports infrastructure across the country and encourage youth participation in competitive sports.
