Maligaon in Assam gets ₹420-cr four-lane flyover

Flyover Project
In order to decongest the Maligaon area in Guwahati city, the transport ministry is set to start the construction work on the four-lane flyover involving an investment of ₹420 crore. The city gets congested during the peak hours of traffic and the 2.4-km long flyover will address the problem. The foundation stone for the mega project is expected to be laid shortly. The new flyover will run from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate and will have an extended arm on the Pandu road. Tenders for the project have been called in and the government aims to award the contract on a fast-tracked basis.
