MahaMetro gets ₹7,888-cr Budget booster

In the Budgetary allocations, the FM has announced an amount of ₹7,888 crore for two metro projects in Maharashtra. Around ₹5,796 crore have been earmarked for Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase II and ₹2,092 crore for the construction of Nashik Metro project. The Nashik metro model will be implemented in other Indian cities as well.

The FM also announced that metro-lite and metro neo will be launched in Tier 2 and 3 cities. The government plans to create a future-ready railway system by 2030 and the Indian Railways has already prepared a National Rail Plan for India 2030.
